GAFI Collection is a renowned private collection of contemporary artwork by famous artists Ion Moraru and Adrian Moraru.
Ion Moraru
Ion Moraru is a well-known painter, drawer, book illustrator and master of watercolor. The artist has exhibited his works in New York, Washington DC(USA), Geneve(Switzerland), Bruxelles (Belgium), Bucharest(Romania),Moscow(Russia) as well as other cultural centers. He was awarded with the following distinctions:
- “Master in Arts” Patent Nr.0775 signed by the President of the Republic of Moldova (2000);
- “Silver Medal” for innovation in the watercolor technique awarded at the World Exhibition “Eureca – 97”, Bruxelles, Belgium (1998);
- “Honorable Diploma” of the European Academy of Arts, Bruxelles, Belgium (1997);
The artist`s works are part of the state Museum of Fine Arts and private collections in the following countries:
USA, Germany, France, UK, Canada, Greece, Israel, Switzerland, Romania, Russia, Italy, Republic of Moldova.
The artist illustrated over 40 books for children and adults.
Ion Moraru is member of the following organizations:
- Member of the Union of Artists (UAP) Republic of Moldova
- Member of the International Association of Professional Plastic Artists,(IAPA) UNESCO
In February 2001, the artist Ion Moraru was appreciated as an exceptional personality by the United States Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service, Section :Alien of Extraordinary Ability,Sec.203(B)(1)(A) being granted the Permanent Resident Status.

Adrian Moraru
Young artist Adrian Moraru, born in august 1981 has an exceptional talent in the domain of Fine Arts. Adrian received both his Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from the Academy of Fine Arts in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova in 2003.
He studied the fundamental principles of perception (light, plane , structure , tone value , perspective, proportion). This solid foundation enables Adrian Moraru to express his personal creativity and fantasy. He considers the importance of good drawing and the techniques of the old masters, as the bases for all great art.
He demonstrates a brilliant technical virtuosity in drawing, painting, watercolor, mixmedia revealing his visions as a man.
Adrian Moraru is one of the most promising artists in America today. His works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Europe and United States galleries.
